New Delhi, Apr 4 (ANI): Assassinated Pakistan's former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto's niece Fatima Bhutto, has questioned the efficacy of United Nations team probing the assassination of her aunt on December 27, 2007.
"I think the issue with the UN report is this, - on what basis they are investigating. There was no autopsy done on Benazir's body, the UN team did not exhume her body, the scene of crime was washed up," said Fatima.
"So how are they investigating the death without anyone of these factors," she added.
Fatima also criticized the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari.
"I think Pakistan is watching a President, who before he was President was fighting corruption cases in Switzerland, Spain, France, the UK, Pakistan and four murder cases has a very clear answer, - what kind of leadership they are going to get," said Fatima, after releasing her book 'Songs of Blood and Sword', a tale of one of Pakistan's most powerful family, in New Delhi.
Zardari was accused of plotting the murder of Fatima's father Murtaza Bhutto on Sep 20, 1996, but had been acquitted of the charge.
Fatima and her stepmother Ghinwa Bhutto have often hinted that they believe Benazir or her widower Asif Ali Zardari had a hand in the killing of her father Murtaza Bhutto.
Though Benazir made several warm references in her autobiography, 'Daughter of the East' to her niece, Fatima believes her aunt tried to split the Bhutto family.
Fatima, who already has two books to her credit, did her Master's degree at London's School of African and Oriental Studies. Instead of heading a debating society like her aunt at Oxford, she wrote her dissertation on the resistance movement to former president Zia-ul-Haq.
She published a book of poetry, 'Whispers of the Desert', at the age of 15, followed in 2006 by a collection of stories about the 2005 earthquake that killed 73,000 people in Pakistan. (ANI)
